Jakarta Judo athletes who competed in the National Student Sports Week (Popnas) XVI won three gold medals on the first day of competition at the Al Azhar Cairo Multipurpose Building, Palembang, South Sumatra.

Jakarta Judo Sports Team Manager, Ratiyono expressed the gold medals were won by Nazwa Risma Yulianti (Women's -57 Kilogram Class), Aysel Izyan Puradin (Men's -50 Kilogram Class), and Chelsie Tifany Cia (Women's -63 Kilogram Class).
"The silver medal was won by Fiza Aqilla in the Women's +63 Kilogram Class, followed by the bronze medal was from Ridhollah Bhatara Putramustika in the Men's -55 Kilogram Class," he stated, Wednesday (8/30).
Jakarta Judo Sends 12 Athletes in Popnas XVIOn the first day of competition for the Judo sport, Jakarta athletes successfully won medals from all the numbers contested.
"Thank God, we thank Allah, our athletes were able to win a total of five medals from the five numbers. I give my thanks and high appreciation to the athletes, coaches, and officials, they are very proud," he explained.
He hoped that this achievement could be a trigger for winning a gold medal in the following events which will be contested until Friday (9/1).
"In total, Jakarta athletes participated in 12 numbers in the Judo sport. We'll try our best to win as many gold medals as possible," he explained.
They should be fought for and get attention for a better future both in terms of education and getting jobs.
"For their level of education or college, they will receive priority in being accepted at Jakarta State University or other tertiary institutions. Then, there are also those who enter the TNI (national army) and police, usually there is concern. This is an effort by the state to give appreciation," he added.
Meanwhile, Judo Jakarta athlete who won a gold medal, Nazwa Risma Yulianti, admitted that she was very happy and grateful for the achievements she had made at Popnas XVI.
"Thank God for the destiny of winning a gold medal for me today. I would like to thank my parents, the Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency, managers, coaches, friends, and all those who have supported me and prayed for me," she said.
She admitted the achievement she achieved was a trigger for even more achievements in the future.
"Not only representing Jakarta, I want to represent Indonesia in competitions up to the international level," she stated.
